Most importantly being what you want the focus of your trip to be.

If you’re looking for a social scene, a city with a good night life is essential. Most capitols are rich with clubs and bars, and for the daylight hours there are festivals and concerts. Many have open-air markets and other gatherings that are prime for mingling.

A more rural setting would be ideal if you want a quiet, romatic vacation. Outside the main cities there are always quiet towns with fewer tourists and more picturesque landscape. Activities are harder to come by but privacy and solitude are in abundance.

Traveling with your family will require amusement parks for the kids, and activities to keep everyone busy. Movies, shows, shops and other family-oriented places are often easy to find in big cities.

Depending on the company in which you are traveling with: children, a spouse, friends; you might be leaning towards one experience more than the other. Many of the most popular travel destinations offer a combination of everything, making your decision easier if torn between several choices.

Being known for it’s musicians, Czech has a variety of concerts and festivals you can attend. The picturesque landscape plays host to the famous Prague Castle among other historical buildings, national parks, cathedrals, spas and medieval towns. Some of the finest beers in the world are also brewed in Czech.

Whether you visit the capital or the small towns tucked in the country side, Czech has it all. In Moravia there is an excellent museum and an Augustinian Monastery. Outside of the city of Brno, there are vineyards that sprawl across the landscape, with small towns placed few and far between. There is plenty of wine tasting and golf destinations in these more rural parts of the country.

In the south is the famous city of Ceske Budejovice, or Budweis in English, who’s brewery was founded in 1895. There is also a large castle, Krumlov, in a quaint city where the Vltava runs through.

Being such a diverse country, the Czech Republic is a popular travel destination.

A country with such a vibrant and rich history naturally offers many things for tourists to see. Here are a few must-see destinations for your next vacation to Austria.

Although built in the late 13th century, the Hofburg Imperial Palace is still standing today. The President of Austria’s offices can be found there, as well as the countries international convention center. There is also the famous Spanish riding school, with it’s Lipizzan stallions. Museums are also there, open to the public for a small fee.

Next, there is the Grossglockner Alpine Road, which is one of the most visited roads on the continent. The largest glacier on the highest mountain in Austria is located at the end of this road. Over 50 million people have visited this destination since the 1930s.

The Carnutinum Archaeological Museum is a popular attraction for tourists. The city was founded during the 6th century AD and was once the most important Roman town in the Alps. Today it holds the largest collection of Roman artifacts, from arms and coins to jewelry.

Last but not least is the Eisriesenwelt Caves; with their amazing ice and rock formations, and an underground glacier and waterfall. It was discovered in the late 1870’s and attracts thousands of tourist from all over the world every year.

The most obvious solution is to book a flight. Although this is efficient for long distances, if you are traveling locally, there are many other alternatives that are more budget friendly.

Train and bus are the most common answers. Both being relatively cheap, and frequent enough for a flexible schedule. Although the commute time is longer than if you were to fly, it is much more interesting. Not only do you get to enjoy the landscape in transit, but you can even make multiple stops on the way to your destination and get the most out of the journey. In the same category, although a little more expensive, is renting a car if one is not available to you. This allows you the freedom that public transportation does not, with all the perks of enjoying the trip as much as reaching your destination.

If your intention is to see as much as possible on your holiday, a ‘ground’ commute is the best option. If you’re pinched for time, flying is the most reliable choice.

Though many first think of booking a hotel, a popular alternative is a hostel. Hostels have many advantages, especially for budget travelers. Not only are they much cheaper than most hotels, they are also a great way to meet people. Most hostels have common areas, kitchens, and other shared facilities that are mingling hotspots. And although there is the option of a private room, many occupants book a bed in a ‘dorm’ like environment, where several individuals share a room. This opens up many opportunities to make new friends, often backpackers or other foreigners who’s experiences you probably share, as opposed to a secluded hotel room.

Hostels also accommodate large groups, where hotels do not. If you are traveling with a group of friends, hostels offer large rooms and group-booking discounts.

Depending on your traveling interests, a hostel can be the perfect choice for you. If socializing is a big part of what makes a holiday memorable for you, or your budget just doesn’t allow an expensive hotel, the choice is easy.
