A Ski Holiday In France

France features some of the world’s best skiing. Most of the skiing in France takes place in two parts of the country: the Alps on the Italian border and the smaller Pyrenees on the Spanish border. France also encompasses no less than five other mountain ranges. The hotel accommodations at some of these resorts range from upscale and luxurious to inviting and cozy. Due to mountain’s height at over ten thousand feet above sea level, French resorts are busy for a very long part of the year, mainly from October through May.

The skiing in France is popular and today there are over four hundred mountain ski resorts in the Alps. However, the mountains are so vast, these resorts only touch six percent the mountains total surface area.  That’s how big they are.

Skiers on holiday can choose any type of vacation they want. If they want a more upscale chalet to ski out resorts to apartments for longer stays. Most of France’s visitors are from their own country, whereas less than twenty percent are from other countries. Because they are very expensive compared to other ski resorts in the Austria, Switzerland, or Italy.

Three Valleys (Les Trois Vallées) is the biggest ski area in France, with over 400 miles of runs, so it’s ideal for any level of ski.
